Located in the scenic northwest corner of Montana, Whitefish is the heart and soul of a year-round outdoor paradise. The Big Mountain Ski Resort is just up the hill while Whitefish Lake is around the bend. Glacier National Park is a short drive to the east, Flathead Lake to the south. And in every direction is enough outdoor recreation to fill a lifetime. The 3,400 foot elevation and Pacific coast weather makes for a perfect winter ski climate and a six month golf season.
A historic, progressive railroad town, Whitefish has an unpretentious spirit. People are friendly, restaurants and bars are lively, and the calendar is filled with fun festivals and cultural events. Western storefronts line the streets providing an air of country sophistication and charm. Several restaurants are known for serving fine cuisine and the local microbrews are worth tapping into.
As remote as it is, getting to Whitefish is relatively easy. Glacier Park International Airport (just 15 minutes away) welcomes daily flights on Delta, Northwest, Alaska, America West and Big Sky Airlines. Amtrak passenger trains arrive daily at the historic Whitefish Train Depot.
